New Respiratory Therapy Director named at Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Cookeville, TN

Dannette GardenshireAfter the retirement of long time Director Colleen Schabacker, BA, RRT, FAARC, Dannette Gardenhire, BS, RRT was named Interim Director for Respiratory Care while a decision was being made on a permanent replacement. In December 2014 the decision was made to make AARC/ TSRC member Dannette Gardenhire Permanent Director of Respiratory Therapy at CRMC.

Danette graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy in 1993. She served as a Respiratory Therapist at CRMC from 1993 to 1998 and then returned to CRMC as a Clinical Coordinator in the Respiratory Therapy department in 2000.
Danette lives in Sparta, TN with her husband Gary and 3 children Isaiah, Madison, and Jeremiah Gardenhire. Danette has been a member of the AARC since 2004.

Dannette is a great example of starting at the staff level and working your way up. Dannette is a exceptional therapist and team player. I had the pleasure of working under Dannette as a new Grad at CRMC. Dannette is one of the elite who strives to show the true value of Respiratory Care and never is too busy to help out an employee.

Liz Gargan Named Director of Respiratory Care, Cardiac Diagnostic, and Sleep Departments at Cumberland Medical Center (CMC) Crossville, TN

Liz-gargan-pic As of August, 2013, Liz Gargan has been the Director of the Respiratory Care Department, Cardiac Diagnostic Department, and the Sleep Study Department at Cumberland Medical Center (CMC). Before coming to CMC, Liz worked with the Covenant Health System for ten years. At Covenant, she worked as a therapist in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation for Parkwest and Fort Sanders Regional Medical Centers, as the cardiopulmonary manager at Fort Loudoun Medical Center, and finally as a clinical quality value analysis manager for Covenant Corporate Materials.

Before moving to Tennessee in 1999, Liz spent nine years at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as a respiratory therapist and as an assistant director/director of respiratory care. She also spent some time at the Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia as a quality and clinical outcomes improvement coordinator just before moving from New Jersey to Tennessee.

Liz graduated from Indiana University with an A.S. in Respiratory Therapy, from Neumann College in Aston, Pennsylvania with a B.S., and has been a member of the AARC since 1984.
